Visionular (“Visionular,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides the Tovia mobile application (“Tovia” or the “App”).
This Privacy Policy explains what information Tovia accesses or processes, how that information is used, when information may be processed by third-party service providers, and the choices available to you.
Tovia is designed around a privacy-first principle: your location history, visit records, event records, and HealthKit data are processed and stored locally on your device and are not uploaded to Visionular servers.
Tovia does not require you to create an account.
1. Information Tovia Accesses
1.1 Location Information
With your permission, Tovia uses Apple Core Location, including visit monitoring functionality such as CLVisit, to detect meaningful stays and related information such as:
- geographic coordinates;
- approximate arrival times;
- approximate departure times;
- location accuracy information; and
- places associated with your visits.
Tovia uses this information to create your personal visit history, identify places you have visited, calculate time spent at places, and provide related features.
Your Tovia location history and visit records are processed and stored locally on your device.
Visionular does not receive or store your Tovia location history on its servers.
You can change or revoke Tovia’s access to location information at any time through iOS Settings. Disabling location access may prevent Tovia from automatically detecting visits.
1.2 Apple Maps and MapKit
Tovia uses Apple Maps and MapKit to identify and display places, points of interest, map information, and related geographic information.
When Tovia makes a request to Apple Maps or MapKit, Apple may process information necessary to provide those services in accordance with Apple’s own terms and privacy practices.
Visionular does not use your Apple Maps queries to create an advertising profile or to track you across apps.
1.3 HealthKit Information
With your permission, Tovia may read the following information from Apple HealthKit:
- step count;
- walking and running distance; and
- active energy burned.
Tovia uses this information only to add personal activity context to your own visit and life records.
HealthKit data accessed by Tovia is processed locally on your device and is not uploaded to Visionular servers, Firebase Analytics, advertising platforms, data brokers, or other third parties.
Tovia does not use HealthKit information for advertising, marketing, profiling, or cross-app tracking.
You may manage Tovia’s HealthKit permissions through Apple’s system privacy and Health settings.
1.4 Information You Create in Tovia
You may create or modify information in Tovia, including:
- event names;
- event types;
- notes;
- place corrections;
- custom place information; and
- other personal records.
This information is stored locally on your device.
Visionular does not receive these records through Tovia.
2. Information Collected Through Firebase Analytics
Tovia uses Google Firebase Analytics to understand how the App is used and to improve product functionality and user experience.
Firebase Analytics may automatically collect or process information such as:
- interactions with App features;
- App sessions and usage events;
- App version;
- device and operating system information;
- language or locale information;
- application or installation identifiers; and
- other technical and analytics information provided by Firebase Analytics.
Tovia does not send the following information to Firebase Analytics:
- your visit history;
- your precise location history;
- the places you have visited;
- HealthKit data;
- personal notes;
- event contents; or
- other locally stored Tovia life records.
Tovia does not use Firebase Analytics to track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.
Tovia does not use the Apple Advertising Identifier (IDFA) for advertising or tracking.
Firebase Analytics data is processed by Google in accordance with Google’s and Firebase’s applicable terms and privacy practices.
3. No Advertising or Cross-App Tracking
Tovia does not display third-party advertising.
Visionular does not:
- sell your personal information;
- sell your location information;
- sell your HealthKit information;
- use your data for targeted advertising;
- use IDFA for advertising or tracking; or
- track your activity across apps or websites owned by other companies for advertising purposes.
Tovia does not provide your HealthKit or location history to advertising networks or data brokers.
4. Local Notifications
Tovia may ask for permission to send local notifications, such as reminders to review or label visits.
These notifications are generated locally on your device.
Tovia does not currently use a remote push notification server to deliver these reminders.
You can disable notifications at any time through iOS Settings.
5. Purchases and Subscriptions
Tovia may offer monthly subscriptions, annual subscriptions, and a one-time Lifetime purchase through Apple In-App Purchase.
Payments are processed by Apple.
Visionular does not receive your full payment card, banking, or other payment-account information.
Tovia may receive information from Apple necessary to determine your purchase or subscription entitlement, such as whether you currently have access to Tovia Pro.
Apple’s handling of payment and transaction information is governed by Apple’s own terms and privacy practices.
6. Data Storage
Your core Tovia personal records are stored locally on your device, including:
- visit history;
- places;
- arrival and departure information;
- events and event types;
- personal notes;
- HealthKit-derived information used by Tovia; and
- other life-recording information created in the App.
Tovia currently does not provide Tovia-record synchronization through iCloud.
Tovia currently does not provide a built-in data export feature.
Because these records are stored locally, deleting the App, resetting your device, losing your device, or deleting application data may result in permanent loss of your records.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
Because your Tovia personal records are stored locally on your device, Visionular generally does not possess a server-side copy of those records.
You may delete individual records within Tovia where the relevant feature allows it.
Deleting Tovia from your device removes the App’s locally stored data in accordance with iOS behavior, subject to any device-level backups managed by you or Apple.
Analytics information processed through Firebase Analytics is subject to Google/Firebase’s retention practices and Visionular’s Firebase configuration.
Support communications may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your request, maintain support records, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, or comply with legal obligations.
8. Support Communications
If you contact us at:
support_app@visionular.com
we may receive information you voluntarily provide, such as:
- your email address;
- your name, if included;
- the content of your message;
- screenshots or attachments you choose to send; and
- other information you voluntarily include.
We use this information only to respond to and handle your support request, maintain reasonable support records, prevent abuse, resolve disputes, and comply with applicable law.
We do not use support communications for advertising or cross-app tracking.
9. Children’s Privacy
Tovia is not specifically directed to children.
Visionular does not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law.
Because Tovia does not require an account and its core personal records are stored locally on the user’s device, Visionular generally does not receive users’ location history, HealthKit data, visit records, or event records.
If you believe that a child has provided personal information directly to Visionular, please contact us at support_app@visionular.com.
10. Your Choices and Controls
You control many of Tovia’s data permissions through iOS.
You may:
- disable or change Location permission;
- disable or change HealthKit access;
- disable notifications;
- edit or delete supported Tovia records; and
- stop using or uninstall Tovia at any time.
Disabling a permission may cause related Tovia features to stop functioning.
11. Security
Tovia is designed to minimize the amount of personal information transmitted away from your device.
Your core location, visit, event, and HealthKit records remain locally stored on your device.
However, no software, device, network, or data-storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
You are responsible for maintaining appropriate security for your device, including device passcodes and operating system protections.
12. Third-Party Services
Tovia currently relies on certain third-party or platform services, including:
- Apple Core Location;
- Apple Maps and MapKit;
- Apple HealthKit;
- Apple In-App Purchase; and
- Google Firebase Analytics.
These providers may independently process information under their own privacy policies and terms when their services are used.
This Privacy Policy describes Visionular’s practices and does not replace the privacy policies of Apple, Google, or other third-party providers.
13. California and Other Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live and which privacy laws apply, you may have certain rights regarding personal information processed by Visionular.
Because Tovia’s core personal records are stored locally on your device and are generally not transmitted to Visionular, Visionular may not possess the location, HealthKit, visit, or event records for which you seek to exercise a privacy right.
For information Visionular does possess, such as support communications or certain analytics information, you may contact us regarding applicable privacy rights.
Nothing in this Privacy Policy limits rights that cannot legally be waived under applicable law.
14. International Processing
Firebase Analytics and other third-party services may process information in countries or regions other than where you live.
Where required, such processing is subject to the safeguards, terms, and legal requirements applicable to the relevant service provider.
Your locally stored Tovia visit, location, event, and HealthKit records are not transferred by Visionular to its servers in another country.
15. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to Tovia, our practices, applicable laws, or third-party services.
If we make material changes, we may provide notice through the App, the App Store listing, or another reasonable method.
The date at the top of this Privacy Policy indicates when the latest version became effective.
